TAKING ACTION AND DELIVERING RESULTS FOR WESTLAND RESIDENTS

SUPPORTING EQUITABLE PUBLIC SAFETY:

Increasing staffing in both our Westland Fire and Police Departments. We made major investments in public safety and added 13 full time Firefighters and Paramedics.

Prioritizing the metal healthcare of residents by renewing the contract of our city's Social Worker and Substance Use Disorder Specialist to work with our Westland Police.

Building two brand new, state-of-the-art fire stations with the latest technology and training facilities to replace our outdated fire stations on Merriman and Palmer Roads.

​​IMPROVING OUR PARKS AND RECREATION SERVICES:

Making over a million dollars in improvements in neighborhood parks with new equipment and amenities. Parks being upgraded including Cayley Parks East and West, Corrado Park, Curtis Woods Park, Firefighters Park, Hubbard Park and Stottlemyer Park.

Broke ground on the Nankin Square Park with an outdoor concert and events space.

Added new amenities by expanding pickleball and creating an online reservations portal.

INVESTING IN NEIGHBORHOODS ACROSS WESTLAND:

Improving our neighborhood roads and infrastructure with significant investments.

Working to improve pedestrian safety and reduce accidents by developing a Safer Streets For All plan to upgrade certain crosswalks and intersections.

Expanded our curbside bulk pickup program and made it free for residents to utilize.
